Santa Barbara County Courthouse
After some of the comments on my piece on the Mission Santa Barbara, I thought one of the other sites in Santa Barbara would make for a nice follow up post. The Santa Barbara County Courthouse is a bout a mile from the mission and incorporates mission architecture. It was built in 1925 and is shaped like a "L" with the open side as a park. There is a tall clock tower right by the main entrance which includes an observation deck that affords a magnificent view of the City of Santa Barbara and even the islands off shore.

View from Observation Deck(southeast)
In the southeasterly direction you can see the ocean and the coast as it bends from the left of the frame to the center. The distant mountains in the center are the Santa Monica Mountains near Oxnard. From the center to the right there are little dots that are oil rigs off the coast. Again, we see Santa Cruz Island, this time on the right(Annacapa Island is behind the tree just right of center).
