Downtown LA Sunset

The sun sets behind downtown Los Angeles as viewed from the Ascot Hills.

Looking at the Sunset.

A young woman looks out at the ocean as the sun nears the horizon. This is an HDR combination of 5 shots exposure bracketed. I've also removed some people in the original shot and moved the young woman up from the bottom of the shot.

The Sun is just above the two bridges spans with glassy water in the foreground. This exposure was created via exposure bracketing with the longer exposure used for the water, the shortest for the sky, the second longest used to lighten the shadows and a base shot.

As we were getting ready to leave, the chopper on Mt. Lee powered up and took off.

They say confession is good for the soul? OK, when I was going though these photos before publishing them, I really didn't like the sky on this shot and the next shot of Powell, so I replaced the sky. This is a panorama.

I had decided to not travel all the way to Whitney Portal, due to being time constrained and the sign warning that the road wan't plowed. Actually you can't see Mt. Whitney from Whitney Portal, the closest view is about a half a mile east of Whitney Portal.

When I saw the baptismal font I knew that I should try a picture of the chapel and see if I could get a reflection, it worked except I ended up baptizing the lens hood on my camera.
